Operations The Retailer Brands factory is a world class, state of the art facility. It operates in accordance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Principles) approved by the prestigious (AIB)American Bakers Institute. A HACCP rating is currently being sought and we are committed to achieving this shortly. The facility is highly mechanised and the equipment first class. Capabilities Retailer Brands can offer a complete manufacturing solution (including contact packing requirements) in an environment comparable with the standards of renowned world class food manufacturers. Our capabilities include the following: -Spices, jellies, baking aids and soups in various pack sizes(range 1g to 1kg) -Dry mix products in doy packs (range 100g to 1 kg) Retailer Brands has contract packing facilities which are negotiable on a long term toll fee basis. Quality We abide by a stringent Quality Control policy which ensures that our high quality standards are consistently met. The entire manufacturing process is monitored by Q.C. at different stages including raw materials, packing as well as final product. We run the Batch Manager System which ensures control, accuracy and 100% traceability of raw materials and final product i.e. full batch tracking. On line QC checks are conducted every 30 minutes by a QC technician which include weights, fill volumes and seal quality. Each item is date coded with best before dates as well as batch numbers. We have a fully equipped laboratory on site which is manned by our qualified food technologists and R+D team. This team is responsible for new product development from formulations, testing, tasting, costing, labelling, shelf stability testing through to final product. Distribution, Selling, Merchandising All products are manufactured in our factory and finished goods sent to TFD (Tongaat Food Distributors) who distribute on a national basis. Sales and merchandising is done both internally and via agents.
